What are idols of technology?

What are idols of technology?

The Bible speaks a lot about idols. What are idols and want do they have to do with the lost covering?

Strong's 457. "eliyl" Ancient Hebrew pictograph reads "Authority Strong Active Strong" The meaning reads gibberish, written in an opposite way, one can see the Strong Authority "god" there, but the meaning of this word is "good for nothing" or "worthless" a fine description of an idol.

Le 19:4 Turn ye not unto idols, nor make to yourselves molten gods: I am the LORD your God.

An idol is a technology made by man that is or senses worthless in the long run. The dozens of Christmas present toys in the Commercialism Stores is a great example of modern day idols. Toys that are good for a few seconds of fun before saturated boredom strikes the over indulgent child.

Job 13:4 But ye are forgers of lies, ye are all physicians of no value.

Are doctors really of no value? Do they seek to improve your health these days? Or treat your symptoms?

Isa 2:8 Their land also is full of idols; they worship the work of their own hands, that which their own fingers have made:

The materialistic world of mankind, is it not becoming worthless and vanity? Why do we need dozens of variety of soap, and countless varieties of milk products...milk used to be that stuff that came from cows...the world is full of too much stuff...worthless technology...too confusing...let's keep it simple and reduce our need for idols of junk we don't really want.

Isa 19:3 And the spirit of Egypt shall fail in the midst thereof; and I will destroy the counsel thereof: and they shall seek to the idols, and to the charmers, and to them that have familiar spirits, and to the wizards.

Here we see the technology involved in the spiritual world...as if the Holy Spirit didn't help us win our soccer matches, we ask wizards and sorcery to do it for us. Our focus is wrong, we replace the lost covering is so many ways, both physically and spiritually.

Its as if a God shaped vacuum was removed when Adam sinned and we have been trying to fill it with things every since. What we should be doing instead is to mourn what we have lost, and ask God to supply our needs and wants.

Zec 11:17 Woe to the idol shepherd that leaveth the flock! the sword shall be upon his arm, and upon his right eye: his arm shall be clean dried up, and his right eye shall be utterly darkened.

The worthless Pastor...how many have we those in our ASSEMBLIES? Pastors we ask for healing and they can't heal ? Pastors for nurturing us, and they do not come?

Idols are worthless things

have many of us seek some security blanket to replace our lost covering...something we consider safe and comfortable, that is actually worthless, but we spend much time with it?

Perhaps it is time to reduce the worthless pieces of junk in our lives, and concentrate on the things that do matter to us. If you haven't used something within six months, its a probable thing it has not real value to you. I may be a memory keep thing, and hard to part with, for our treasures on earth jog memories of good times we had with them. Family photos, diaries of past living, thing you made such as paintings, all fade away as the day of your leaving earth comes, and you finally sleep in the ground. Your children may want to remember those happy times, or they might not. It's hard to leave the things of your life...that the most personal worthless things we have, the parts of ourselves that remind us of our life achievements all the days of our lives.

Ec 2:24 There is nothing better for a man, than that he should eat and drink, and that he should make his soul enjoy good in his labour. This also I saw, that it was from the hand of God.

As we consider the lives we live, the worthless things we have made, did God also think they were worthless? Or is there some purpose for our building things for His glory? We will never know the answers to these questions in this life, and until than let us remember to mourn what we have lost, and seek a better place of paradise that God's own hands have made. Shalom
