Salvation is a gift or Present. But Salvation is also a Person or Presence. Jesus did everything for you. But are you responding to His love? Some have said, since Jesus is better at doing everything for me, I don't have to do anything, or get involved. Jesus is the best gardener in my life, so I don't have to practice gardening with him. So instead we do things for each other all alone. Is this how relational love works? Mary and Martha were two women responding to Jesus love, one was busy doing things for Jesus, the other busy with the relationship of the person. Luke 10:40 But Martha was cumbered about much serving, and came to him, and said, Lord, dost thou not care that my sister hath left me to serve alone? bid her therefore that she help me. 41 And Jesus answered and said unto her, Martha, Martha, thou art careful and troubled about many things: 42 But one thing is needful: and Mary hath chosen that good part, which shall not be taken away from her.(KJV) So is Jesus an "event or a process"? Jesus is both. You have to spend time doing things with His power, but also time with Jesus as a person. Your response to Jesus must be both a Mary and a Martha. Martha's love was providing and Mary's love was responding . Love is highly relational, so our loving as personalities must do both. More? Streams of Love Next, how does this loving work? |
