sin-offering atonement

( 131 ) 1Sa 15:25 Now therefore, I pray thee, pardon my sin "chatta'ah", and turn again with me, that I may worship the LORD .

.. heaven and forgive the sin-offering .. Solomon prays a prayer in context seems confusing, "forgive our sin-offering" Does this make sense ? Yes .... if you allow languages to take short cuts in word meanings and contexts....

Le 5:10 And he shall offer the second for a burnt offering, according to the manner: and the priest shall make an atonement for him for his sin which he hath sinned, and it shall be forgiven him.

Here is a verse with the same word forgive in it, and sin-offering and sins. Solomon could pray like this "LORD as we make our sin-offering as an atonement for our sinning may our actions be forgiven. Since the sin-offering is a verb of actions, one can take short cuts and simply pray "Lord forgive our sin-offering" ....

( 135 ) 1Ki 8:35 When heaven is shut up , and there is no rain , because they have sinned against thee; if they pray toward this place , and confess thy name , and turn from their sin "chatta'ah", when thou afflictest them:

.. name and turn from their sin-offering ..

( 136 ) 1Ki 8:36 Then hear thou in heaven , and forgive the sin "chatta'ah" of thy servants , and of thy people Israel , that thou teach them the good way wherein they should walk , and give rain upon thy land , which thou hast given to thy people for an inheritance .
