king of heaven, queen of heaven, thorn as a simile of sin, prayer training to receive a deeper flow of Jesus

Q9: Welcome to prayer training by Jesus..

Understand the childlike foundations first:-

  • (1) How to support Jesus
  • (2) Former rains in Jesus
  • (3) Latter rains in Jesus

    (4) Deeper prayer training.

  • Ps 5:2 Hearken unto the voice of my cry, my King (melek), and my God (elohiym): for unto thee will I pray. (KJV)

Let's begin looking through the 188 verses that use "King" and "Elohiym"

    De 17:14  When thou art come unto the land which the LORD-Jesus thy Elohiym giveth thee, and shalt possess it, and shalt dwell therein, and shalt say, I will set a King over me, like as all the nations that [are] about me;

I (YHWH) will set an earthly king over Me. Who is YHWH in this verse? It has to be YHWH-Jesus, because in verse one we are told to make sacrifice to the YHWH of Elohiym. The Father would destroy those missing relationship, as would Jesus as well, but the Family powers decided to sacrifice their Son for mankind's missing relationship, so the sacrifice we made in OT times was to YHWH-Jesus, who later added humanity to His divinity and died as a sacrifice for our missing.

1Sa 12:12 And when ye saw that Nahash the King of the children of Ammon came against you, ye said unto me, Nay; but a King shall reign over us: when the LORD-Jesus your Elohiym [was] your King.

Notice it says Elohiym is your King. It also says YHWH your Elohiym, your King; indicates that within the heavenly Family is a Family member who is our King.

2Ki 17:7 For [so] it was, that the children of Israel had sinned against the LORD-Jesus their Elohiym, which had brought them up out of the land of Egypt, from under the hand of Pharaoh King of Egypt, and had feared other Elohiym's,

This verse says there are other Elohiym's, but Elohiym is already plural, so what does it mean to add another "s"? It must mean there are other Family powers who act as Strong Authorities, and we see this here with the Heavenly Family, under Lord-Jesus, and the Egyptian Family power under the King of Egypt. We know Pharoah had a wife and sons to continue the kingdom He reigns as King. So the Hebrew word "elohiym" consistently refers to "Strong Authority Family Power".

Ps 5:2 Hearken unto the voice of my cry, my King, and my Elohiym: for unto thee will I pray.

A prayer seed promise that within the Elohiym Family is our King.

Ps 44:4 Thou art my King, O Elohiym: command deliverances for Jacob.

Here is a clue to our King. A king is chosen from within the family kind. Thus the Lord-Jesus to be our King, has to be of the kind, we humans are, and so the YHWH referenced here promises to add humanity to His divinity in order to reign as our King. In types and symbols, Jesus appoints the Family line of David as the inheritance from which Jesus' humanity would come from.

Jesus asked the Jews a difficult question:-

Ps 110:1 (A Prayer of David.) The LORD (YHWH-Jesus) said unto my Lord (adown) "David" , Sit thou at my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool.

Jesus says, if the YHWH is making David sit down at his right hand, how can the YHWH become David's son, the promised Son of David, the Messiah who is the Son of Elohiym?

The Jews could not answer, but we see the Kingdom of Jesus was established when Lord-Jesus, created earth with mankind on it, in the beginning.

Ps 47:6 Sing praises to Elohiym, sing praises: sing praises unto our King, sing praises.

A prayer promise packed with joy!

Ps 47:7 For Elohiym [is] the King of all the earth: sing ye praises with understanding.

Notice the [is] is added to the verse. The Hebrew word "Melek" is a noun, there is also a Hebrew word "Melek" as a verb. The verb means to reign, showing the incomplete action, and the noun means "reign-complete" showing the reigning is established and complete. Thus this verse correctly reads: For Elohiym reigns-complete on earth, sing ye praises with understanding.

The next verse uses the "verb" form to "reign", Strong's makes a silly different spelling "Malak"...The Author prefers the added spellings to be "Malak" for both forms.

Ps 47:8 God (elohiym) reigneth (malak) over the heathen: God (elohiym) sitteth upon the throne of his holiness.

Notice the reign of Elohiym is incomplete over the "unsaved" because they refuse to come to Elohiym, and the King Jesus for salvation, so the "verb form" is used here.

Don't you love how simple Hebrew is?

Ps 68:24 They have seen thy goings, O Elohiym; [even] the goings of my Elohiym, my King, in the sanctuary.

Here is more evidence the one who "Reigns-complete" is YHWH-Jesus, because He is the high Priest in the Heavenly Sanctuary.

Ps 74:12 For Elohiym [is] my King of old, working salvation (yeshua) in the midst of the earth.

Notice the YHWH-Jesus is one who "reigns-complete" from old times, working Yeshua on the earth ever since. People use Greek thinking to assume "Yashua" is the Name of Jesus, but this is a functional descriptor of Jesus who saves.

Mt 1:21 And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name YASHUA: for he shall YASHA his people from their sin-offerings.

The functional descriptor of "Yashua" spelled in Greek "Jesus" means the "one who saves", and the "King of Elohiym" has been this from olden times.

Ps 84:3 Yea, the sparrow hath found an house, and the swallow a nest for herself, where she may lay her young, [even] thine altars, O LORD-Jesus of hosts, my King, and my Elohiym.

This is a beautiful prayer promise, a poetry simile. As birds of the air have nests for a home, we humans also have Jesus for our home, and is also our Saviour, Judge, King and Comforter.

Ps 95:3 For the LORD-Jesus [is] a great Elohiym, and a great King above all Elohiym's.

How do we make sense of this verse?

Prayer 95:3 The Lord-Jesus [is] a great Family Power, and a great King above all other Family Powers.

What other Family Powers would earthlings refer to? The Greeks had multiple Strong Authorities in a Family of Deities, as did the Babylonians and Egyptians.

Isa 44:6 Thus saith the LORD-Jesus the King of Israel, and his redeemer the LORD-Jesus of hosts; I [am] the first, and I [am] the last; and beside me [there is] no Elohiym.

Jews who see YHWH as a single soliatry Being twist all the meanings of Elohiym, rather than bring all contexts of Elohiym into a consistent meaning. There is a Hebrew word for "family" in the OT, and Elohiym is never referenced as "family". Only in the NT is Elohiym referenced as "family". Why is this? Because only in the NT is the functional actions of the Son of Elohiym complete, the Hebrew word (ben) "son" means the "heavenly home of love" continues. The Hebrew word "bar" (home head) means Jesus becomes the home head, the King of a Family of redeemed, after He takes up humanity added to His divinity and dies the eternal sacrifice for our missing.

Jer 10:10 But the LORD-Jesus [is] the true Elohiym, he [is] the living Elohiym, and an everlasting King: at his wrath the earth shall tremble, and the nations shall not be able to abide his indignation.

Jesus is our Family power, the living Family power, and our everlasting reigning-complete authority over the earth. What a prayer promise we have in this prayer!

Our Father in heaven, thank you for Jesus, your Son, who reigns-complete as our King over the earth. may we be a servant of Jesus, may we enjoy His ruling over us, we support Jesus words. Amen

Now people assume the heavenly Father is a King, but nowhere does the Scriptures directly declare this.

    These verses might come close:-

Da 4:32 And they shall drive thee from men, and thy dwelling shall be with the beasts of the field: they shall make thee to eat grass as oxen, and seven times shall pass over thee, until thou know that the most High ruleth in the kingdom of men, and giveth it to whomsoever he will.

Da 4:37 Now I Nebuchadnezzar praise and extol and honour the King of heaven, all whose works are truth, and his ways judgment: and those that walk in pride he is able to abase. (KJV)

The Most High ruleth, is as close as we find, the Father reigns (verb form) over the earth.

Notice the details of the Father, and the Son who is given a kingdom:

Da 7:9 I beheld till the thrones were cast down, and the Ancient of days did sit, whose garment was white as snow, and the hair of his head like the pure wool: his throne was like the fiery flame, and his wheels as burning fire.

  • Da 7:13 I saw in the night visions, and, behold, one like the Son of man came with the clouds of heaven, and came to the Ancient of days, and they brought him near before him.
  • 14 And there was given him dominion, and glory, and a kingdom, that all people, nations, and languages, should serve him: his dominion is an everlasting dominion, which shall not pass away, and his kingdom that which shall not be destroyed.

The Ancient of Days, is a reference to the Father, and the Son of Man coming near Him, is Jesus the Son of Elohiym. Notice the Father gives the Son a kingdom, thus Jesus becomes our King.

    Notice our Hebrew English translator:-

We are members of the heavenly family, children of the heavenly King, heirs of God, and joint heirs with Christ. At His coming we shall have the crown of life that fadeth not away.

The privileges granted to the children of God are without limit,to be connected with Jesus Christ, who, throughout the universe of heaven and worlds that have not fallen, is adored by every heart, and His praises sung by every tongue; to be children of God, to bear His name, to become a member of the royal family; to be ranged under the banner of Prince Immanuel, the King of kings and Lord of lords From Devotional: Our Father Cares, p. 39.

Jesus is our King of Kings.

These angels were of the company that had been waiting in a shining cloud to escort Jesus to His heavenly home. The most exalted of the angel throng, they were the two who had come to the tomb at Christ's resurrection, and they had been with Him throughout His life on earth. With eager desire all heaven had waited for the end of His tarrying in a world marred by the curse of sin. The time had now come for the heavenly universe to receive their King. Page 832 Desire of Ages.

The entire universe awaited to receive their heavenly King, who is Jesus.

So our heavenly Father reigns over all things, but not in the sense of a "king" whatever you choose to mean by that term. Jesus is our King, who reigns over us because He is one of us, as well one of the heavenly Elohiym kind.

This is why honouring the "Queen of heaven" in any pagan or pious form is wrong (Jer 44:17). Likewise the same would apply to the heavenly Father as a "King of heaven". There is a verse where in "Daniel 4:37 "Now I Nebuchadnezzar praise and extol and honour the King of heaven," seems as a reference to the heavenly Father, but from looking at all the verses of this theme, is more likely a reference to King Jesus.

This is just another reason why the concept of Elohiym as a "Trinity" whatever you define by that term is wrong. The term is not a Hebrew word, and thus should not be used. The term is invented by the dogma of men, and thus its meaning comes under "the commandments of men", something Jesus also condemned (Matthew 15:9).

On Sunday, October 21, 2018, our "fasting and prayer" times fell to my "Baal Master powers of Self". We all struggle with self and missing. So be warned, if you seek Jesus more and more, the Satanic forces will also increase in an attempt to "trip you up".

The Devil hates any of us coming to Jesus in a real and tangible manner, so be certain you will be attacked, even those around you, will daily mock you.

Hosea 9:7 The days of visitation are come, the days of recompence are come; Israel shall know it: the prophet is a fool, the spiritual man is mad, for the multitude of thine iniquity, and the great hatred. (KJV)

My wife "hates organized religion", all this pious quest for knowledge, and nobody gets the relational love of Jesus, that really matters. Instead we are doing what Paul describes as "works of the teachings" following Jesus teachings using our own Baal Master powers of self. We do not support Jesus correctly, and so our "organized religion" is a community of Baal master powers of humans doing the same things in a pious culture. Our assembles in church are a gathering of like minded people following our own human powers of self, rather than supporting Jesus and letting His power of love flow through us.

Is there a difference? O yes.

Ro 3:20 Therefore by the "doings of the teachings" there shall no flesh be "straightened" in his sight: for by the "teachings" is the knowledge of "sin-offering".

  • 21 But now the "straightness of Elohiym" without the "teachings" is manifested, being witnessed by the "Teachings" and the Prophets;
  • 22 Even the "straightness of Elohiym" which is by "Support" in Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that "support": for there is no difference:
  • 23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of "Elohiym";
  • 24 Being "straightened" freely by his "Beauty" through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:
  • 25 Whom "Elohiym" hath set forth to be a "sacrifice-offering" through "support" in his blood, to declare his "Straightness" for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of "Elohiym";
  • 26 To declare, I say, at this time his "straightness": that he might be "Straight", and the "straightener" of him which "supports" Jesus.
  • 27 Where is boasting then? It is excluded. By what "teachings"? of works? Nay: but by the "teachings" of "support".
  • 28 Therefore we conclude that a man is "straightened" by "support" without the "doings of the teachings".
  • 29 Is he the "Elohiym" of the Jews only? is he not also of the Gentiles? Yes, of the Gentiles also:
  • 30 Seeing it is one "Elohiym", which shall "straighten" the circumcision by "support", and uncircumcision through "suppport".
  • 31 Do we then make void the "teachings" through "support"? "Elohiym" forbid: yea, we establish the "teachings". ("Ancient Hebrew" the rest is KJV)

The word promises in the Scriptures are written in Hebrew but translated in English. So many seeking a pious religion follow the teachings using their own "baal master powers of human self", thus seek becoming "good". They are doing what Paul says "doing the teachings". Does this save you? No. The other way of looking at the word promises in the teachings is to support those the word promises point to and thus in prayer you ask Jesus, the Divine WORD who wrote those word promises to do as He promises to do. Thus Jesus' power flows through you as the teachings promise. This is an entirely different way of "following the teachings". Can the reader see the difference? Thus as Paul says, we establish the teachings.

Why is it so hard to convince others of the passion of loving Jesus? Why do those around us, mock and abuse us? Just because we are a little touched? All my life I have suffered abuse, and I am especially sensitive to people and their mocking. When I was invited to a secret meeting concerning the James Stump movement, that the "Holy Spirit is just a force of the Father", I was shocked that I did not know Scripture at all, and that my English words in my Bible were not good enough to answer these pious stiff necks. So all this energy to battle with stick necks and their foolish thinking. Can you ever convince anybody of truth? I doubt it. First they will never find the time to study the matter themselves. So why bother creating a website for those who will never listen or read your experience in Jesus, and the words of His truth? Our Church is full of head strong ones who say "you're deep brother", work out your own salvation with "fear and trembling". All I hear is mocking. The spiritual man is mad.

In Prayer 5, is this prayer promise:

Ps 5:3 My voice shalt thou hear in the morning, O LORD; in the morning will I direct my prayer unto thee, and will look up.

When troubles surround us in prayer, we need to look up.

Ps 5:7 But as for me, I will come into thy house in the multitude of thy mercy: and in thy fear will I worship toward thy holy temple.

The Hebrew word "shachah" translated worship, means to bow at the knees, the pictograph reads "Pressed outside. Behold the Person!" ; is a picture of one pressed down by the awe and power of GOD when we come to speak and listen to Him. The translated word "towards" is found in many translations here, but not a Hebrew word like that is found. Never mind. So where "towards the special temple" do we face when we pray feeling the pressing outside over us?

Eze 8:16 And he brought me into the inner court of the LORD'S house, and, behold, at the door of the temple of the LORD, between the porch and the altar, were about five and twenty men, with their backs toward the temple of the LORD, and their faces toward the east; and they worshipped the sun toward the east. (KJV)

This verse shows those praying in the wrong direction. Jews in fomer rain times faced towards the special temple on earth. Today in latter rains, since we are a simile of the special temple of the Holy Spirit, we face as Scripture says, towards the West, feeling the pressing of awe and power outside over us, we pray on our knees formally. But you can stand and speak to Jesus, as long as you sense His pressing outside over you, His servant. Do not rise in pride or presumption, but support His words promised through you with hope. Shalom

Ps 5:12 For thou, LORD, wilt bless the righteous; with favour wilt thou compass him as with a shield. (KJV)

The Hebrew word "shield" or "tsinnah" Strong's 6793, is interesting:-

Here are all the Hebrew words related to "tsinnah", according to Jeff Benner:-

There are SDA scholars who are expert in languages such as Hebrew, Greek and Arabic, who scoff at this so called Cannanite precursor to Hebrew, they mock me and our attempts to read pictographs in the Ancient Hebrew word meanings. The Author writes this to show the reader honesty and transparency. If you want to doubt, than mock on and doubt. But have you studied the Ancient Hebrew subject properly before making a decision. I would suggest reading all the material about Hebrew on this website before you reject such things.

Scholars such as James Barr have destroyed followers of Jesus seeking truth, because He says there is no Hebrew root and child root word meanings. Sure if you want to follow scholars and their ideas, do so and I wish you salvation influenced by the dogmas of men.

As for the Author, we follow Hebrew Sola Scriptoria, and this is backed up by our Hebrew-English translator. Yet how many SDA scholars even know we have the SOP as a Hebrew-English translator?

How many understand even the Ancient Chinese has pictograph concepts similar to Ancient Hebrew pictographs?

The Author presents these words as yet more proof of the Ancient Hebrew pictographs which add meanings to the Hebrew words.

    (1) The first Hebrew word is "thorn", "The prickle over the nations". The spelling of Hebrew today is confusing, in Ancient Hebrew "thorn" is spelled as "XN" but today we assume the spelling as "SiN". Is this an interesting idea? Is sin really a simile of a thorn?

In Job 4 Eliphaz speaks to Job of the suffering of the straight and crooked ones.

Job 4:9 By the blast of God (eloah) "The Father" they perish,

  • and by the breath(ruwach) "The Holy Spirit" of his nostrils are they consumed.

This is a simile parallel, the Father's breath of life is adminstrated by the Holy Spirit, and powers the straight and crooked ones alike. Notice in the next verse Eliphaz adds another simile, that of a lion:

Job 4:10 The roaring of the lion, and the voice of the fierce lion, and the teeth of the young lions, are broken.

  • 1Pe 5:8 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary (Hebrew satan) the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour: (KJV)

Notice Peter parallels the roaring lion as the Hebrew word "satan".

Job 4:13 In thoughts from the visions of the night,...

Eliphaz speaks to Job of the vision at night when the Holy Spirit comes over him..

Job 4:15 Then a spirit (ruwach) "the Holy Spirit" passed before my face; the hair of my flesh stood up:

  • 16 It stood still, but I could not discern the form thereof: an image was before mine eyes, there was silence, and I heard a voice, saying,

Job 4:17 Shall mortal man be more just "straight" than God "The Father"?

Notice the poetry similes Eliphaz presents:-

Job 5:4 His children are far from safety, and they are crushed in the gate, neither is there any to deliver them.

  • 5 Whose harvest the hungry eateth up, and taketh it even out of the thorns, and the robber swalloweth up their substance.

This is a fantastic poetry simile!

The pictures shows two Beings, Jesus and Satan, as two similes, one is a shepherd, the other a robber. The Gate is the entrance of salvation, of safety, where the Shepherd resides watching over His sheep with the thorny bushes all around the assembly outside as a corral.

    Notice the picture carefully.

"SiN" is a "thorn" or the "prickle over the nations" or the "thorns over the sheep" is a picture of sin. So "Satan is over the nations of sheep, seeking to devour us all" This is really what "SiN" is about. The difference is the presence of Jesus, the "Gate residence" , who rescues us from the "Thorns of Satan".

Notice the Ancient Hebrew people were taught to turn "SiN" into a good and functional thing, rather than feeling remorse over the destructive nature of "SiN". Use the "thorn" as a means of protection, keep the "SiN" outside, while you dwell safely inside.

When Jesus was given a crown of thorns to wear on His head, it was a simile of "SiN", but the "Shepherd" stood under the load, and "saved His sheep" as our Saviour.

    (2) The next Hebrew word is "harm", the "Strong prickle secured over the nations"

    The picture is clear!

The traditional spelling is "acown" while Ancient Hebrew spelling is "AXFN" or "ASWN".

Ex 21:23 And if any mischief (acown) "harm" follow, then thou shalt give life for life,

This is yet another reason why "harm" is something caused by "thorn similes" or by "Satan", the opponent of Jesus.

The special writing speaks of "life for life" resulting from Satanic harm caused on the "Woman's womb for life".

Read why Jesus died for our missing, what the "thorns" as similes of living really show us, is penned under the Holy Spirit of Prophecy, written by Ellen White, a simile of the Holy Spirit in character and function.

    (3) The next Hebrew word is "thorn bush" "The prickled one over the nations. Behold the Being!"

    Can't see two Beings here?

    Can you see them now?

    Can't see two Beings here?

Nu 21:8 And the LORD said unto Moses, Make thee a fiery serpent (saraph) "burning", and set it upon a pole: and it shall come to pass, that every one that is bitten, when he looketh upon it, shall live

Satan and Jesus are two similes of "burning", Hebrew writes about function, or verbs, not dsecriptions or nouns. Both of these Beings stood around the Burning of the Father in heaven, both functioned as "angels" whatever you picture by that term. The "thorn" is a simile of Satan. The thorny bush that burned is a simile of the presence of Elohiym, and specifically two Beings, Jesus and Satan.

The thorn is a simile of sin, carried or authored by Satan. The Shepherd turned the thorns into a corral to hold off Satan and protect His sheep from further missing. Standing near the gate, Jesus promises to twist our thorns outside while leaving us straight and at peace inside. The Cross is a simile of both Satan and Jesus, opposing each other.

Is the reader getting a little touched by these Hebrew pictographs?

    (4) The next Hebrew word is "shield", "The prickled one active over the nations. Opposed by the Behold the Being!"

What picture is this? Jesus opposes the thorny darts of Satan. He is our shield.

The hand of Jesus wards off the thorns of Satan. The nail is a simile of faith, the nail supported Jesus' hands to the Cross. The picture shows the salvation symbols of Jesus, His beauty in His hand, that shows the eternal scars for our thorns. The thorns He worn, were shaped into something positive as a crown, but the mockers did not see the thorn symbol meaning.

Zec 12:10 And I will pour upon the house of David, and upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the spirit of grace and of supplications: and they shall look upon me (at) "about the one" whom they have pierced, and they shall mourn for him, as one mourneth for his only son, and shall be in bitterness for him, as one that is in bitterness for his firstborn.

  • Zec 13:6 And one shall say unto him, What are these wounds in thine hands? Then he shall answer, Those with which I was wounded in the house of my friends.
  • 7 Awake, O sword, against my shepherd, and against the man that is my fellow, saith the LORD of hosts: smite the shepherd, and the sheep shall be scattered: and I will turn mine hand upon the little ones.

The nail is a symbol of our support for Jesus. Are we willing to support Jesus and allow Him to turn our thorns into a means of protecting us from mockers outside of us? Jesus is our shield. He is the mighty one who stops the thorny darts of Satan, flowing over the nations from harming us. What a Saviour we serve! Let us support Him with His words.

    (5) The next Hebrew word is "hate", "the prickle over the nations strong".

Contrast this with the Hebrew words for love:-

The pictograph reads "The Strong Person ! Behold! in the Home"

The pictograph reads "The strong Person Behold! in the Home, (relating to another) Person. Behold!"

Notice both of the Hebrew words for love are about Persons in the home of heaven, a relationship concept, something relational.

Hate on the other hand, is "the thorny prickle going over the people strong", bent on destroying relationships.

    See the difference?

    Ex 20:5 Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate (sana) me;

Notice in the ten commandments of the Father, the Father is highly relational and does not like manmade technology disrupting His relationship with mankind.

Ps 119:163 I hate and abhor lying: but thy law (torah) "teachings" do I love(ahab) "maleness-love".

Every time people throw the teachings wrongly at you, they inflict thorns into our thinking, to break us up from returning to the relationship of GOD within the home of heaven. This is a prayer promise, ask Jesus to help you maleness-love His teachings.

    (6) The final two Hebrew words are the same but in verb and noun forms. Both mean the "prickled one covers the nations"

The verb form is about the action not yet complete. Satan is the simile of the thorn. He is about to strike you with the thorny teeth in His mouth, and inflict the poisonous hate that causes a breakdown in relationships.

Zec 3:1 And he shewed me Joshua (a human simile of Jesus) the high priest standing before the angel( malak) "messenger" of the LORD (Jesus our messenger before the Father) , and Satan (satan) "noun form" standing at his right hand to resist (satan) "verb form" him. (KJV)

How about we translate this better for the reader?

Zec 3:1 And he showed me Yeshua, an "earthly Jesus", as the high priest standing before the heavenly Yeshua as ambassador for our Father , and the Opponent standing at his right hand to oppose him. (Ancient Hebrew)

And when Satan strikes with his thorns, the prickles become a covering over the nations:-

The Author wishes not to offend the Person, but this is the image of the Hebrew pictographs:-

Thorny people become this way to prevent others reaching them, like the movie Patch Adams, we have to look beyond the thorns and see the potential inside.

You can't cuddle rose bushes covered all over in thorns. But you can seek out the beautiful flowers and their delicate beauty in the bushes. We have this wonderful counsel from our Hebrew-English translator:-

Many, walking along the path of life, dwell upon their mistakes and failures and disappointments, and their hearts are filled with grief and discouragement. While I was in Europe, a sister who had been doing this, and who was in deep distress, wrote to me, asking for some word of encouragement. The night after I had read her letter I dreamed that I was in a garden, and one who seemed to be the owner of the garden was conducting me through its paths. I was gathering the flowers and enjoying their fragrance, when this sister, who had been walking by my side, called my attention to some unsightly briers that were impeding her way. There she was mourning and grieving. She was not walking in the pathway, following the guide, but was walking among the briers and thorns.

"Oh," she mourned, "is it not a pity that this beautiful garden is spoiled with thorns?"

Then the guide said, "Let the thorns alone, for they will only wound you. Gather the roses, the lilies, and the pinks."

Have there not been some bright spots in your experience? Have you not had some precious seasons when your heart throbbed with joy in response to the Spirit of God? When you look back into the chapters of your life experience do you not find some pleasant pages? Are not God's promises, like the fragrant flowers, growing beside your path on every hand? Will you not let their beauty and sweetness fill your heart with joy? (Rejoicing in the Lord)

Well that was a long prayer study of David's fifth prayer. How much we can gleam from the prophetic words of Jesus, and we have only scratched the surface. I hope you were a little touched by the Hebrew words and the way the word pictures come to us in all the poetry beauty.

Next we consider the sixth prayer of Jesus.
