Q48: 55. Not With Outward Show

Show the Desire of Ages is inspired..

(1) Where true Christian revival begins..

Because of their selfishness and earthliness, even the disciples of Jesuscould not comprehend the spiritual glory which He sought to reveal unto them. It was not until afterChrist's ascension to His Father, and the outpouring of the Holy Spirit upon the believers, that thedisciples fully appreciated the Saviour's character and mission. After they had received the baptism ofthe Spirit, they began to realize that they had been in the very presence of the Lord of glory. As thesayings of Christ were brought to their remembrance, their minds were opened to comprehend theprophecies, and to understand the miracles which He had wrought. The wonders of His life passedbefore them, and they were as men awakened from a dream. They realized that " the Word was madeflesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the Only-begotten of the Father,)full of grace and truth." John 1:14. Christ had actually come from God to a sinful world to save thefallen sons and daughters of Adam. The disciples now seemed, to themselves, of much less importancethan before they realized this. They never wearied of rehearsing His words and works. His lessons, which they had but dimly understood, now came to them as a fresh revelation. The Scriptures becameto them a new book. Page 507 DA

Lu 24:32 And they said one to another, Did not our heart burn within us, while he talked with us by the way, and while he opened to us the scriptures?(KJV)

True Christian revival begins in the Words of Jesus, in his torah teachings, the entire Bible, from His former rain (OT) and latter rain (NT), where our school master the Holy Spirit, brings these "torah teachings" to us, that we may know Jesus in a relationship fully.

Ga 3:23 But before faith came, we were kept under the law, shut up unto the faith which should afterwards be revealed.

  • 24 Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith.
  • 25 But after that faith is come, we are no longer under a schoolmaster.
  • 26 For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus.

Many Christians read these verses and conclude once we come to Jesus, we no longer need the Bible, all we do is follow Jesus....under the Holy Spirit....is this true?

    No

First you have to trust your translation into English. Second your reading only one passage, which Scripture says not to.

    (1) First let's show you the word "nomos" or "torah" means "torah teachings", all the Scriptures of the Bible, not just the first five books of Moses.

Jos 24:26 And Joshua wrote these words in the book of the law (torah) of God,...

Joshua is a figure of Yeshua, who is Jesus, in the OT. He writes more teachings (ie Joshua) in the scrolls of the "torah".So if the "torah" is just the first five books of Moses, Joshua is which book ? Sixth !

So please, do not trust men and man's traditions, or man's wisdom. Trust only Scripture and what Scripture says. The Hebrew word "torah" means "teachings" and these are the "teachings of Jesus".

    (2) Second let's show you the word "pistos" or "emuwnah", translated into English as "faith", whatever that term means. Most people think "Faith" means to "trust", to "hope for something we cannot see".

Again never trust translations into English, trust only the Hebrew and what the Scriptures say.

Ex 17:12 But Moses' hands were heavy; and they took a stone, and put it under him, and he sat thereon; and Aaron and Hur stayed up his hands, the one on the one side, and the other on the other side; and his hands were steady until the going down of the sun.

The reader cannot find "faith" here hey? No, not with English translations... the yellow word highlighted is "emuwnah". Using an electronic Bibe such as Power Bible CD, which costs online just $20, one can read the Hebrew, find the Hebrew verses for all Hebrew words using that word, and check the meanings of Hebrew in the English....Easy and simple...

You do not have to be a Hebrew expert, which I am NOT...just willing to spend time with the Holy Spirit reading Jesus' words in His writings carefully....not one of ten Bible translations translates this word "faith" correctly....

So what is the meaning of "faith" for all occurences of this Hebrew word ?

Ex 17:12 But Moses' hands were heavy; and they took a stone, and put it under him, and he sat thereon; and Aaron and Hur stayed up his hands, the one on the one side, and the other on the other side; and his hands were supported until the going down of the sun.

The meaning of "faith" is "support".

    Now let's translate the passage:-

Ga 3:23 But before " his support" came, we were kept under the "teachings", shut up unto " his support" which should afterwards be revealed.

  • 24 Wherefore the "teachings" was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be "straightened" by " our support".
  • 25 But after that " his support" is come, we are no longer under a schoolmaster.
  • 26 For ye are all the children of God by " our support" in Christ Jesus.

The Jews were under the teachings, which reveal Jesus, who would come in Person to support His teachings personally in human flesh. That was the only way for salvation to work, to support the sinner while in their sinning state, just Jesus did this without sinning Himself. So the teachings are a schoolmaster to bring us to the Person Jesus Christ.

Yeshua 14:1 O sinner, return unto God; .. ( first salvational step of Jesus)

Once we have Jesus, we no longer require the teachings to bring us to Jesus, but we do require the teachings to make us straight by supporting Jesus' words in His teachings.

How do we support Jesus? By taking His words in his teachings, and asking for His power to flow through them in you...for the benefit of you and others, whom we love as Jesus loves us.

Yeshua 14:2 Take with you words,... ( second salvational step of Jesus)

When we take His words promised with power, we cannot see power in them, and we hope such words are Christ breathed, and thus we hope they will work. Indeed they do as long as we are meek and humble, without propensities ourselves, and some promises have conditions such as fasting and deeper prayer.

Yeshua 14:2 Say unto Him (in prayer),... ( third salvational step of Jesus)

But generally with child like support, we take Jesus' words and use them to "support Him" in our practical manner of loving on the earth, in whatever we do and where ever we go.

Yeshua 14:2 ...so will we render the calves of our lips. ( this is fruit),... ( fourth salvational step of Jesus)

Notice the SOP says true Christian revival begins with Jesus words in the Bible. We must study the words of Jesus until we find them burning in our heart. Until we get excited reading them. Until we find the joy of words of His power flowing through us, when we support Jesus, by taking special seed promises of His power, and using them in our lives.

Everything we need for salvation is in Scripture as an example:-

  • Study the writings looking for "Seeds of Promised Power"
  • Praying for power using those Seeds .. (all the Psalms are written prayers with examples of "seeds of promised power")
  • Share Jesus' fruit in you as Jesus did (Do as Jesus and disciples in Acts did)

Jesus came down to earth, to support us as sinners, and it is us as sinners becoming straight, for us to support Jesus, by using His words correctly with humility and meekness. That's how the Science of Salvation works. Shalom

    (2) No outward show

The kingdom of God comes not with outward show. The gospel of the grace of God, with its spirit ofself-abnegation, can never be in harmony with the spirit of the world. The two principles areantagonistic. "The natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishnessunto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned." 1 Cor. 2:14.

When you support Jesus' words of power promises, such that wonders of His power flow through you, be very, very careful that the fire that is aflame does not come with outward show.Otherwise you rise in pride and do things from presumption, which is not supporting Jesus, but arrogantly abusing Him for your selfish gain.

How to love without attracting human attention, is a difficult manner. For the development of the character of Jesus is in you, not to be displayed on bill boards for others to see.The Father's fruit in you, causes others to be attracted to the Jesus in you. Be careful lest your relationship breaks away and you rise in pride, which opposes relationship and automatically destroys relationship.

Humility is looking out for others, causes a relationship to flourish in fellowship love, opposes pride.

    (3) No outward interference

Yet the Saviour attempted no civil reforms. Heattacked no national abuses, nor condemned the national enemies. He did not interfere with theauthority or administration of those in power. He who was our example kept aloof from earthlygovernments. Not because He was indifferent to the woes of men, but because the remedy did not lie inmerely human and external measures.

This is a strange statement, added for the reader to consider. How can we make a health reform without attacking Government controls of health reform? How can we cure people of cancer, without attacking the hospitals that make money from dealing with disease management?

Many doctors have been secretly murdered for their stand on true health reform, opposing the false science of health reform. Does this passage tell us to make a stand, or not make a stand? One would need to read all the SOP passages on this theme to better understand, what is being said here.
