How does the medium work?

Q7: How does the medium work?

Look at the Hebrew word "to magnify"

Strong's 1341. 'gadal' Ancient Hebrew pictograph reads "walking through door of authority"

When you look into a magnifying glass, the light enters through the door of authority (the medium)and you see words in a different light and size.

Ps 34:3 O magnify the LORD with me, and let us exalt his name together.

Isa 42:21 The LORD is well pleased for his righteousness' sake; he will magnify the law, and make it honourable.

Jesus came to earth through the medium of the Holy Spirit, to magnify His Father's love and make honourable the love rules of their salvation.

Now let's investigate a simple model medium that explains sinning. Consider these Bible texts:-

1Jo 1:5 This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.

God is described as light and darkness is described as sinning.

Mt 8:12 But the children of the kingdom shall be cast out into outer "exoteros" darkness "skotos":

Here we see the Bibles speak of an outer darkness

Jude 1:13 Raging waves of the sea foaming out their own shame wandering stars to whom is reserved the blackness "zophos" of darkness "skotos": for ever

Here we see the Bible speaks of a second darkness

Lu 1:79 To give light to them that sit in darkness "skotos": and in the shadow "skia" of death , to guide our feet into the way of peace

Darkness also makes SHADOWS of death as well as just darkness. This suggests there are TWO shadow types, or TWO darkness types, one shadow causes eternal death (the outer darkness) and the other shadow does not.

Now lets puts Johns analogy together using simple natural observations.

When you place a pen on your desk, the light makes a fully dark region called an umbra shadow. Thus one shadow is made.

But if you lift the pen toward the light from the ceiling, the light penetrates into the umbra shadow making a second shadow that is less dark with more light, a pre-umbra shadow. Thus two shadows are made.

This experiment tells you that the size of the object does not make a second shadow, nor the size of the light source, its the relationship or distance you are as a sinner from the light source of Jesus, that makes your sinning into one shadow or two shadows.

Thus sinning is a relationship concept.

Now to make a shadow or area of darkness you need three objects and the observation is only seen by a relationship to these three objects.

  • (1) Light source
  • (2) The object (you or in this case a pen)
  • (3) The medium (the stuff that allows the darkness to be seen, to have edges to be defined)
  • Put all these three things together in a relationship and you can define missing the mark as a area of darkness called a sin.

Can this sin exist alone on its own ? No. To be defined, the sin needs the Light source or standard, you or the object, and the medium, the expressive way defining the darkness and causing it to be observed. The umbra shadow is defined as light that cannot penetrate behind you, while with pre-umbra shadows some light can penetrate into the shadow. Thus we have covered shadows (shadows covered by some light entering them making them less dark) and uncovered shadows, these are "sins" without any light covering them.

The ratios of each type of shadow, depends upon the closeness you are to Christ, the Light source.

Mathematically this process is explained below

When the sinner walks towards the saviour, the uncovered darkness goes away, but the covered darkness gets larger, meaning he feels a chief of sinners.

Should a sinner walk away from his saviour, the uncovered darkness returns and the covered sins are made smaller in areas of his life.

There is a point in your in your walk with your Saviour when there are no uncovered darkness regions in your life, but only covered darkness regions, this is spoken of as sin-offering not onto death.

1Jo 5:16 If any man see his brother sin hamartano or Hebrew chata a sin-offering hamartia or Hebrew chataah which is not unto death,

Therefore there is a point where Satan is no longer a ruler in your life, because of your closeness to Jesus as your saviour.

Paul speaks of this point as the sin-offering doing the missing rather than the cognitive mind connected to Jesus in relationship. It does not make excuses for sinning, but since the mind is willing, and the carnal flesh is weak, Jesus is able to accommodate stages of our training while we walk in a relationship with Him. This training helps us to trust Jesus more, despite our faults and missing, we yearn for a closer walk with Jesus.

Rom 7:17 Now then it is no more I that do it, but sin-offering that dwelleth in me.

Your standing in terms of salvation is based on relationships to Satan or relationships to Jesus, not on the size of your sinning.

The medium allows for Jesus to be with you, despite your dysfunction.

To reduce your claim of Satan on you, you need only come closer to Jesus, the source of your lights righteousness. When you do the uncovered darkness will vanish, and the covered darkness will increase, you will feel you are a chief of sinners, for you will begin to see how serious missing the love relationship to Jesus really is.
