Do we have sinful flesh?

Q8: Do we inherit sinful flesh?

Some misconceptions from sinning..

When Adam became subjected to the ruling powers of Satan, did his flesh become sinful ?

In order to answer this question we need to understand what man is.

Mankind (adam) was engineered with three things.

  • (1) Flesh from the ground (adamah)
  • (2) Breath of life, from the Father, but administrated by the Holy Spirit
  • (3) Wind of man ( mans character) also empowered by the Holy Spirit )

Does mans character originate in the flesh ? No. The character is stored in the brain or flesh, and the character of each person is recorded by the Holy Spirit in personal living presence in each one of us. Thus the preservation of our character or wind is faithfully stored by the Holy Spirit who is the medium representing GOD and man in a dysfunctional state.

How can I understand this with a simple natural analogy ?

We need an administrator of our life force, a body and a mind separate from the body that develops character.

  • Allow the Holy Spirit to be our life force administrator.
  • Allow the driver to be the character inside mankind.
  • Allow the car to be the body of mankind.

Now if a wicked person comes along and tampers with a car to make it more prone to accidents and cause death, does this make the car sinful? No. Missing the mark is about relationships, not objects on their own. In order for something sinful to become sinful, it would have to sin. And cars without drivers do not sin. It is the car driver that makes the old car have an accident. We acknowledge the unfairness of a wicked person making the car more prone to accidents, so some drivers get more unlucky and die faster than others. Some are trained by Satan to love the thrill of speeding knowing the old car is damaged, but the drivers do not care.

But surely our change in the English language allows for something sinful to mean fallen and corrupted, without actually sinning? That might be true for humans changing the meaning of words over time, but this is not a Biblical concept of missing the mark, chata. Sure we all understand the old bomb has fallen short of its ideal concept of perfection, because wicked people have changed the design, but the old car is not sinful, despite fallen short of perfection in design.

We have unfortunate additions in some writings that say Jesus lived a sinless life while living in sinful flesh. (Bible Reading for the Home Circle, 1917 edition , page 175)

Such a concept is wrong and unbiblical; the Bible says Jesus came in the likeness of sinful flesh. The word likeness does not imply sameness, even though it implies something similar.

In fact translated correctly Jesus came is a likeness of sin-offering flesh. That makes sense, after all Jesus was the Lamb of God that takes away the sin-offering of the world.

Ro 8:3 For what the torah-teaching could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sin-offering flesh, and for sin-offering, condemned sin-offering in the flesh:

Joh 1:29 The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin-offering of the world.

The old car bomb with deliberate changes to make it prone to accident makes it harder for drivers to drive such cars properly and safely. It is Satan that rules over our minds to change our character, and make us love Satan as our ruler. Jesus came in the same flesh we humans have. But our flesh is not sinful just because we are born. If humans sin at all, its because we listen to Satan and Satan becomes the ruler over our soul. We cant blame our missing the mark on Satan either, for the Holy Spirit is a medium that empowers our existence and empowers our strength to rule over our minds as well, we have the choose of which master rules over your mind. As a car driver do you allow Satan or Jesus to influence how you drive your car body? The Holy Spirit is a medium, a natural neutral entity in which this battle of war exists and is empowers the observed affects of whatever master you choose in your life, but you as the car driver of your flesh has to decide which power rules over you. You cannot blame God for causing this observation to exist, or the Holy Spirit for the administration of the observation of your relationship. You cant blame Satan either who wants to rule over your mind as the car drive. Dont blame the car for your accidents, or the Satans suggestions in your mind, your mind is powerfully equipped to hear the still small voice of the Holy Spirit in your conscience mind, or the voice of Satan, but you must choose which master rules your car driving ability each day. And you can be as reckless in your driving as you like, putting dents and scratches in your car body, but this does not make the car sinful just because the car driver is sinful in sinning. In our English changes of words, we assume a car driver who smashes up his car, does make his car body sinful but this is a human spin on a Biblical concept. The Bible meaning of words must remain defined in the Bible only, and not of words or traditions of men.

Therefore Jesus lived a sinless life while atoning in the likeness of sinful hamartia flesh. This word is the Hebrew chataah, and is really a sin-offering. Jesus took all the sins of the world the tickets of missing the mark for all humans who have ever sinned, and this is called chataah. The Hebrew translation of Romans 8:3 is Jesus came in the likeness of sin-offering fleshwhich makes a small but easier understanding of the context. In John 1:29 it reads Behold, the Lamb of God who takes away the sin-offering of the world !

We inherit condemned flesh. Our genetics is not sinful.

Imagine a really good car driver like Jesus, sitting in a car prone to accidents driving the car for 33 years without a single car accident or problem with driving. No road rage, no speeding tickets, no parking fines, no times his eyes looked at women passing by, no time he was distracted from his driving his old car, Jesus drove his car perfectly with 100% precision. Did the old car body change during those 33 years ? No. Did the car drivers character, his mind and talents and skills of driving change ? Yes. And it is the wind of a man, that the Holy Spirit records unto salvation, it is your character that you take into the Fathers world, for are equipped to exist in your Fathers standard. Sure the flesh in our bodies is weakened by condemned genetics, but this does not make genetics sinful. Only a mind acting on relationships to powers, changing character, can we really speak about things becoming sinful. Sinning really only occurs in a moral sense, in our minds, and the mind doing dysfunctional things.

Now the next time you are tempted to eat a sinful chocolate cake, you are making a mockery of the Bible definition for sin. Sin is a relationship term, not some object that stands alone. If you are tempted to eat a chocolate cake, you really love to have Satan as your ruler of your mind and you indulge in the passion of missing the mark with Jesus.

And another character flaw is recorded against you, not an object of sin, but a relationship to a power outside of you. And if you persist in sinning, eventually your relationship is so strong to Satan; He will hold you forever in His grip.

Next we will consider if we are born into sin, or that sin is a state of being..
