spirit of meekness

(321) 1Co 4:21 What will ye ? shall I come unto you with a rod , or in love (ahab) , and in the spirit of meekness ?

..or in maleness-love ..

The translation of Greek "praotes" (Strong 4236) as "meekness" is wrong. How do I know ? Because the Greek word "praus" (Strong 4235) is "meekness"...Now the closeness of these two Greek words as spelling the same might actually be the same word, ie: noun and verb form, so maybe they are the same, only Strong's and translators like to make things overly confusing. One reason why I don't like Greek...its the second-hand translation from the Hebrew. The New Testament was originally written in Hebrew.

Let's assume than the word is "meek"....

1Co 4:21 What will ye ? shall I come unto you with a rod , or in maleness-love and in the Holy Spirit of meekness ?

Notice an interesting picture of meekness....having power (rod of discipline) but NOT using it (gentleness instead). This is a very good picture of meekness, see studies of meek.

(322) 1Co 8:1 Now as touching things offered unto idols , we know that we all have knowledge . Knowledge puffeth up , but charity (ahab) edifieth .

.. Knowledge puffeth up , but maleness-love edifieth .

Another characteristic of maleness-love is that it is practical, not full of knowledge..not theoretical..

(323) 1Co 13:1 Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels , and have not charity (ahab) , I am become as sounding brass , or a tinkling cymbal .

I speak with the tongues of men and of angels , and have not maleness-love I am become as sounding brass..

(324) 1Co 13:2 And though I have the gift of prophecy , and understand all mysteries , and all knowledge ; and though I have all faith , so that I could remove mountains , and have not charity (ahab) , I am nothing .

..and have not maleness-love, I am nothing

Notice the supreme nature of maleness-love..

(325) 1Co 13:3 And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned , and have not charity (ahab) , it profiteth me nothing .

..and have not maleness-love it profiteth me nothing.

(326) 1Co 13:4 Charity (ahab) suffereth long , and is kind ; charity (ahab) envieth not ; charity (ahab) vaunteth not itself , is not puffed up ,

Maleness-love suffereth long

Another quality of maleness-love is it is long suffering...

(327) 1Co 13:8 Charity (ahab) never faileth : but whether there be prophecies , they shall fail ; whether there be tongues , they shall cease ; whether there be knowledge , it shall vanish away .

Maleness-love never faile

Another quality of maleness-love is it never fails, never lets you down..

(328) 1Co 13:13 And now abideth faith , hope , charity (ahab) , these three ; but the greatest of these is charity (ahab) .

And now abideth faith , hope , maleness-love these three..

The greatest factor a Christian needs is maleness-love.

(329) 1Co 14:1 Follow after charity (ahab) , and desire spiritual gifts, but rather that ye may prophesy .

Follow after maleness-love ..

(330) 1Co 16:14 Let all your things be done with charity (ahab) .

Let all your things be done with maleness-love..
