Sin-offering removes guilt but not always the consequences

( 101 ) Nu 12:11 And Aaron said unto Moses , Alas , my lord , I beseech thee, lay not the sin "chatta'ah" upon us, wherein we have done foolishly , and wherein we have sinned .

.. I beseech thee, lay not the sin-offering .. When Aaron and Miriam acted foolishly towards Moses, the LORD punished Miriam with leprosy. Aaron speaks to not lay the sin-offering upon them for their sinning. The sin-offering here is not just bearing the guilt from sinning, but also the consequences from sinning, in this case Miriam's leprosy. The Bible shows while the sin-offering removes the guilt from sinning, the sinner is still punished because of the sinning's consequences.

Thus sin-offering removes guilt but not always punishment consequences..

( 102 ) Nu 15:24 Then it shall be, if ought be committed by ignorance without the knowledge of the congregation , that all the congregation shall offer one young bullock for a burnt offering , for a sweet savour unto the LORD , with his meat offering , and his drink offering , according to the manner , and one kid of the goats for a sin offering "chatta'ah".

.. of the goats for a sin sin-offering ..

( 103 ) Nu 15:25 And the priest shall make an atonement for all the congregation of the children of Israel , and it shall be forgiven them; for it is ignorance : and they shall bring their offering , a sacrifice made by fire unto the LORD , and their sin offering "chatta'ah" before the LORD , for their ignorance :

.. unto the LORD and their sin-offering ..

( 104 ) Nu 15:27 And if any soul sin through ignorance , then he shall bring a she goat of the first year for a sin offering "chatta'ah".

.. year for a sin-offering ..

( 105 ) Nu 16:26 And he spake unto the congregation , saying , Depart , I pray you, from the tents of these wicked men , and touch nothing of theirs, lest ye be consumed in all their sins "chatta'ah".

.. lest ye be consumed in all their sin-offering ..

( 106 ) Nu 18:9 This shall be thine of the most holy things , reserved from the fire : every oblation of theirs, every meat offering of theirs, and every sin offering "chatta'ah" of theirs, and every trespass offering of theirs, which they shall render unto me, shall be most holy for thee and for thy sons .

.. of theirs, and every sin-offering ..

( 107 ) Nu 19:9 And a man that is clean shall gather up the ashes of the heifer , and lay them up without the camp in a clean place , and it shall be kept for the congregation of the children of Israel for a water of separation : it is a purification for sin "chatta'ah".

.. it is a purification for sin-offering .. The red heifer is another pictureof Jesus dieing outside the camp of Israel. The ashes of the sacrifice is used in a water of separation, a type of baptism.

( 108 ) Nu 19:17 And for an unclean person they shall take of the ashes of the burnt heifer of purification for sin "chatta'ah", and running water shall be put thereto in a vessel :

.. burnt heifer of purification for sin-offering ..

( 109 ) Nu 28:15 And one kid of the goats for a sin offering "chatta'ah" unto the LORD shall be offered , beside the continual burnt offering , and his drink offering .

.. of the goats for a sin-offering ..

( 110 ) Nu 28:22 And one goat for a sin offering "chatta'ah", to make an atonement for you.

.. one goat for a sin-offering ..
