Jesus was meek

( 21 ) Isa 61:1  The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me; because the LORD hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek "`anav"; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted , to proclaim liberty to the captives , and the opening of the prison to them that are bound ;

.. to preach good tidings unto the meek ..

How difficult it must have been for Jesus finding meek people to heal of disease.. And prisoners to set free from Satanic slavery ? A truly meek person is rare indeed, but anyone can achieve meekness in bursts through our relationships to Jesus even daily as a flower bursting in spring, but the perserving meekness of Moses is another character talent rare among us all.

( 22 ) Am 2:7 That pant after the dust of the earth on the head of the poor , and turn aside the way of the meek "`anav": and a man and his father will go in unto the same maid , to profane my holy name : {maid: or, young woman}

.. and turn aside the way of the meek ..

( 23 ) Am 8:4 Hear this, O ye that swallow up the needy , even to make the poor "`anav" of the land to fail ,

.. even to make the meek ..

( 24 ) Zep 2:3 Seek ye the LORD , all ye meek "`anav" of the earth , which have wrought his judgment ; seek righteousness , seek meekness : it may be ye shall be hid in the day of the LORD'S anger .

.. Seek ye the LORD all ye meek ..

( 25 ) Mt 11:29 Take my yoke upon you , and learn of me ; for I am meek "`anav" "praos" and lowly in heart : and ye shall find rest unto your souls .

.. me for I am meek ..

The powerful relationship Jesus offers to us all is one through meekness. The Greek word "praos" is the same as the Greek word "praus" the idea of nouns and verbs with the same spelling, as the same words, only differences in the tense of the meaning. See further details in you want to learn about this. A yoke was a method of getting a younger bull to learn the power pulling methods from the older bullock yoked to him. One could adjust the balance of power between the two, the older does more of the work while the younger learns the ideas of power pulling and working together as a team. In a team the balance of power changes until the matured younger bull is pulling equally in power as the older bull was. Thus the yoke is an instrument to allow this shift in power from one person in the relationship to the other person. With you being a relationship with Jesus, His power flows through Himself, while you receive a little of His power. After you learn meekness, more of His power will flow through you. Shalom

( 26 ) Mt 5:5 Blessed are the meek "`anav": for they shall inherit the earth .

.. Blessed are the meek for they inherit the earth .. Lovely verse !

( 27 ) Mt 21:5 Tell ye the daughter of Sion , Behold , thy King cometh unto thee , meek "`anav", and sitting upon an ass , and a colt the foal of an ass .

.. cometh unto thee meek ..

This verse has a few strange things.... Notice the Hebrew words... Zec 9:9 .....thy King "melek" cometh "bow'" unto thee: he is just "tsaddiyq", and having salvation "yasha`"; poor (lowly) "`aniy", and riding "rakab" upon an ass "chamowr", and upon a colt "`ayir" the foal "ben" of an ass "'athown"

And the Greek translation in Matthew..

Mt 21:5..... King "basileus" cometh "erchomai" unto thee "soi", meek "praus", and "kai" sitting "epibaino" upon "epi" an ass "onos", and "kai" a colt "polos" the foal "huios" of an ass "hupozugion"

typo equal 1 equal 2 equal 3
"`aniy" poor "chamowr" ass "`ayir" colt "ben" foal
"praus" meek "onos" ass "polos" colt "huios" foal

Notice the word "aniy" was mistaken for the word "anav", hence "meekness" was written in the Greek translation, from reading the Hebrew. This show Matthew was originally written in Hebrew and later on translated into the Greek, by Greek speaking Hebrew Jews.
