God is NOT an empty storm

( 1 ) Ex 20:7 Thou shalt not take the name of the LORD thy God in vain "shav'"; for the LORD will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain "shav'".

.. .. the LORD thy God in empty-storm ..that taketh his name in empty-storm .. Notice the first context of this word is the VERY heart of GOD principles of the POWER principle of PRAYER.

God is not an empty storm How many of us pray in the Name of Jesus, making a lot of noise but expecting nothing from GOD, or worse still treating GOD as an empty storm....Does not God being good know how to to give good gifts to those who ask Him? O ye of little faith...God is not en empty storm.

Ex 20:7 Thou shalt not take the name of the LORD thy God as an empty-storm; for the LORD will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name as an empty-storm.

What kind of prayers are these ? Those that never reach the ceiling of your house. Prayers that do not make it past your ears. Such people pray loudly and use many words, they are a storm of all promise but no deliver. Does GOD need to hear your ramble of words ? No. Does he need to any words at all ? No. Than why do we pray ? Prayer is about listening to GOD talk back to you. Prayer is about mankind praising GOD for His blessings. Prayer is about claiming specific promises in His word. Prayer is not about rambling on asking for things you do not understand. All noise, no rain. The empty - storm.

Many think this commandment is about swearing vanities. Speaking words that curse the language of GOD is a part of this commandment too, a minor part. For while the ten commandments were moral rules for immoral people, the ten commandments are also the ten principles of relationship for moral Christians. Thus the teachings rise a level or two higher than the teachings for the mere immoral.

Do not think the ten commandments are only negatives for the immoral. The ten principles are positives for the moral believer in Jesus, and thus the principles rise higher and deeper with renewed meaning.

In heaven long before Satan sinned, existed the ten principles of love written by the Father. They would not have been written as negatives, since sinning never existed. They would be broadly written as principles in the positive. When Satan began to sin many loyal subjects were caught unawares of what was happening, even Satan too. For those in sinning processes can lie, cheat and deceive. God cannot do these things. Thus he who does sinning has an advantage over the righteous one. And Satan played on God's love much to Satan's advantage.

( 2 ) Ex 23:1  Thou shalt not raise a false "shav'" report : put not thine hand with the wicked to be an unrighteous witness . {raise: or, receive}

..Thou shalt not raise empty-storm report .. Such a report promises much but delivers little.

( 3 ) De 5:11 Thou shalt not take the name of the LORD thy God in vain "shav'": for the LORD will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain "shav'".

.. .. the LORD thy God in empty-storm ..that taketh his name in empty-storm ..

( 4 ) De 5:20 Neither shalt thou bear false "shav'" witness against thy neighbour .

..Neither shalt thou make an empty-storm witness .. We are not to promise our loyalty to our friends, and than let them down. A false witness is one who promises much but is NOT faithful under pressure.

( 5 ) Job 7:3 So am I made to possess months of vanity "shav'", and wearisome nights are appointed to me.

.. made to possess months of empty-storm ..

( 6 ) Job 11:11 For he knoweth vain "shav'" men : he seeth wickedness also; will he not then consider it?

.. empty-storm ..

( 7 ) Job 15:31 Let not him that is deceived trust in vanity "shav'": for vanity "shav'" shall be his recompence .

.. .. that is deceived trust in empty-storm ..trust in vanity for empty-storm ..

( 8 ) Job 31:5 If I have walked with vanity "shav'", or if my foot hath hasted to deceit ;

.. empty-storm ..

( 9 ) Job 35:13 Surely God will not hear vanity "shav'", neither will the Almighty regard it.

.. Surely God will not hear empty-storm ..

( 10 ) Ps 12:2 They speak vanity "shav'" every one with his neighbour : with flattering lips and with a double heart do they speak . {a double...: Heb. an heart and an heart}

.. empty-storm ..
