Some confusing themes in Scripture. Is Holy Spirit the Father's force?

Q25: What is the Holy Spirit ? by Scripture.

HYPOTHESIS: How Scripture views the Holy Spirit?

METHOD: Ellen White wrote the nature of the Holy Spirit is a mystery and silence is golden.In Ellen White's day electronic computer Scripture software did not exist, nor was there easy access to linear Scripture translations.

This is perhaps one reason why Ellen White said silence is golden, how many of us can read our Scriptures in Hebrew? Should we be expected to do this ? Or do we trust our translators implicitly ..Ellen White never spoke about Scripture translations, she accepted the translations faithfully, and this is a good thing.

We will look for a different approach to answer this mystery. One way to do this is to look at some confusing things in Scripture...

Almighty

Many translators did not like the idea that a functional descriptor of GOD would be like a woman with breasts,hence they changed the Hebrew meaning to "Almighty" rather than record it in English as "Shadday".

See how Scripture sees the Shadday.

See how Ellen White sees the Shadday.

Fruit Trees

Now I am no expert on Hebrew or translations, or pronouns. All these verses have the Hebrew word "tree" and "fruit", yet the KJV inconsistently translates the pronouns differently.. So here is a confusing puzzle when one reads Scripture:-

Eze 34:27 And the tree ..shall yield her fruit,

Zec 8:12 .. the vine shall give her fruit,

Joe 2:22 .. for the tree beareth her fruit, ..

Ps 1:3 ..that bringeth forth his fruit..

Jer 17:8 For he shall be as a tree ..

...........that spreadeth out her roots ..

Da 4:14 ..Hew down the tree..scatter his fruit:

Ho 10:1 Israel .. bringeth forth his fruit

Mt 12:33 ..tree.. and his fruit good..

Why does a "Tree" and its "fruit" have references in KJV, as "his" and "her" ? And one verse has both "his" and "her" for the same tree, and it's roots? The only way out of this confusion is to consider wherever masculine or feminine nouns are present, the pronouns follow, but masculine always takes over the feminine cases. Yeah right, but this is a grammar thing, surely there has to be a better child like reason for this?

Agencies of Power flow

On the day of Pentecost the Infinite One revealed Himself in power to the church. By His Holy Spirit He descended from the heights of heaven as a rushing mighty wind to the room in which the disciples were assembled. Words of penitence and confession of sin were mingled with songs of praise for si ns forgiven. Words of thanksgiving and of prophecy were heard. All heaven was bending low to behold and adore the wisdom of matchless, incomprehensible love. {TMK 344.2}

Hopefully you are becoming less confused. The whole of heaven's power flows through the Holy Spirit. It is His power that rushes over the disciples as a mighty wind, that is carried by the Holy Spirit.

Notice how SOP identifies who the 'Infinite One' is...

It is impossible for finite minds fully to comprehend the character or the works of the Infinite One. To the keenest intellect, the most highly educated mind, that holy Being must ever remain clothed in mystery. Canst thou by searching find out God (eloah-Father)? canst thou find out the Almighty (Shadday - Holy Spirit) unto perfection? It is as high as heaven; what canst thou do? deeper than hell; what canst thou know? Job 11:7, 8. . . . {CSA 46.2}

Here SOP references the heavenly power of the Father (eloah) and the Holy Spirit (shadday).

The Bible is Gods voice speaking to us, just as surely as if we could hear it with our ears. If we realized this, with what awe we would open Gods Word and with what earnestness we would search its precepts. The reading and contemplation of the Scriptures would be regarded as an audience with the Infinite One. 107 {CSA 69.5}

Here SOP references the heavenly power of the Father and the Holy Spirit and the Son. But it this flow comes especially through the Father, as the Infinite One.

and from the lips of the Infinite One was heard these words, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased .have not understood how much this was saying to us. You are accepted in the beloved.. . . {CTr 209.5

Here SOP references the heavenly power of the Father as the Infinite One.

The Infinite One by His Holy Spirit has shed light into the minds and hearts of His servants. He has given dreams and visions, symbols and figures; and those to whom the truth was thus revealed, have themselves embodied the thought in human language. {FLB 10.3}

Here we see the Father's power flows through the Holy Spirit, as His power. Thus when we see the references to this power flow, it will be recorded as "his power" .

Notice when Jesus is empowered to destroy from the Father, it is actually the Holy Spirit that carries this strange act out. The whole family of Elohiym, have different functions, and different reasons why the flow of power is like this.

Angel of his presence

Not a sigh is breathed, not a pain felt, not a grief pierces the soul, but the throb vibrates to the Father's heart. . . . God is bending from His throne to hear the cry of the oppressed. To every sincere prayer He answers, "Here am I." He uplifts the distressed and downtrodden. In all our afflictions He is afflicted. In every temptation and every trial the Angel of His presence is near to deliver.-- The Desire of Ages, p. 356. (1898) {CM 116.2}

Here SOP sp eaks of the Father and "his throne", but in Rev 4:8, we learn all members of the Godhead have thrones, so why "his throne" rather than "their throne"?

First if we see Elohiym as three sources of love, we have a pagan concept of three gods showing love. In fact we have three entities of love that has to be combined harmoniously before love flows from within the Godhead, but outwards via the Father. Why like this ? Because the Father is the Strong One in the home, and all power flows through the Father, thus we have a single flow of love. This makes the heavenly Family express one GOD. This is why Elohiym says it is His Spirit and His throne. True love does not come from independent sources, love is the divine reaction of three members in the Godhead, that flows from the Most High.

Is the Holy Spirit the Father's force?

So here the Angel of His presence, is the Holy Spirit administrating the Father's power, so it flows to earth in a controlled but personal way. If the Father's spirit, was a force of the Father, such a power flow would be uncontrolled and no longer personal. If the Father Himself in whatever form He creates, lives directly or indirectly in sinners, such sinners of fallen flesh would cease to exist in the Father's power of love.

This is why we have to have a personal agency, an active living medium, the Holy Spirit, who makes the Father's flow personal to each believer, or each sinner, and even each wicked one trying to seek Jesus as their Saviour.

See Mysteries of Holy Spirit

See studies of the Medium.

It was Christ that bade Elijah speak these words to the apostate king. Jehovah Immanuel had cause to be greatly displeased at Ahaziah's impiety. What had Christ not done to win the hearts of Israel and to inspire them with unwavering confidence in Himself? For ages He had visited His people with manifestations of the most condescending kindness and unexampled love. From the time of the patriarchs, He had shown how His "delights were with the sons of men." Proverbs 8:31. He had been a very present help to all who sought Him in sincerity. "In all their affliction He was afflicted, and the Angel of His presence saved them: in His love and in His pity He redeemed them." Isaiah 63:9. Yet Israel had revolted from God and turned for help to the Lord's worst enemy. {CH 455.2}

So here the Angel of His presence, is the Holy Spirit administrating Jesus power, but this power is a flow directed by the Father. This is why we see the Hebrew terms "messenger of YHWH" Jesus is the messenger or angel for the Father, in OT times.

Finally....

If you as a reader cannot see The Holy Spirit mostly expresses femaleness-love and the Father mostly expresses maleness-love,go back and review other studies:-
