How fitting that mercy and truth be with the redeemed...I wonder who mercy is a symbol of?
(22) 1Ki 2:4 That the LORD may continue his word which he spake concerning me, saying , If thy children take heed to their way , to walk before me in truth (emeth) with all their heart and with all their soul , there shall not fail thee he) a man on the throne of Israel .
If thy children take heed to their way , to walk before me in truth (emeth) ..
How fitting that the very words for truth, indeed involve one walking towards salvation...
Notice the meaning of truth is a relationship walk of salvation with GOD, via the Holy Spirit.
A typology of the New Testament for those redeemed... Did not Jesus promise the Comforter the Spirit of Truth to walk with us, the redeemed, with Jesus, the Author of our salvation?
How fitting that the redeemed as walk in the Old Testament in the same way. The typology shows that YHWH here is Jesus...
(23) 1Ki 3:6 And Solomon said , Thou hast shewed unto thy servant David my father great mercy , according as he walked before thee in truth (emeth) , and in righteousness , and in uprightness of heart with thee; and thou hast kept for him this great kindness , that thou hast given him a son to sit on his throne , as it is this day .
David my father great mercy , according as he walked before thee in truth (emeth) ..
David walks in truth, a symbol of the Holy Spirit, carrying the powers of salvation in YHWH..
(24) 1Ki 10:6 And she said to the king , It was a true (emeth) report that I heard in mine own land of thy acts and of thy wisdom .
It was a truthful (emeth) report ..
a secular use of truth...
(25) 1Ki 17:24 And the woman said to Elijah , Now by this I know that thou art a man of God , and that the word of the LORD in thy mouth is truth (emeth) .
..thou art a man of God , and that the word of the LORD (YHWH) in thy mouth is truth (emeth) ...
Notice this relationship of YHWH and the Holy Spirit..
(26) 1Ki 22:16 And the king said unto him, How many times shall I adjure thee that thou tell me nothing but that which is true (emeth) in the name of the LORD ?
..tell me nothing but that which is truth (emeth) ..
Only GOD is truth...
(27) 2Ki 20:3 I beseech thee, O LORD , remember now how I have walked before thee in truth (emeth) and with a perfect heart , and have done that which is good in thy sight . And Hezekiah wept sore .
..I have walked before thee in truth (emeth) ..
we walk in truth, as the word means, in a relationship with GOD..

secular use of truth..

Notice when one is without truth, one loses all of heavenly powers..
