What is technology?

What is technology all about?

Technology is the way humans use machines or themselves to make a physical things useful for humans in some way. The first recorded technology in the Bible where leaves sewed together to make clothes to replace lost clothing.

Ge 3:7 And the eyes of them both were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together, and made themselves aprons.

Jesus is able to change our physical world with His own technology, and make things we have lost, a better place.

Ge 3:21 Unto Adam also and to his wife did the LORD God make coats of skins, and clothed them.

The next major recording of making something with technology is the boat, which would replace humans and animals destroyed by a Global Flood.

Ge 6:14 Make thee an ark of gopher wood; rooms shalt thou make in the ark, and shalt pitch it within and without with pitch.

The next major recording of making something with technology is a tower designed to reach unto heaven, lest another flood come.

Ge 11:3 And they said one to another, Go to, let us make brick, and burn them throughly. And they had brick for stone, and slime had they for morter. 4 And they said, Go to, let us build us a city and a tower, whose top may reach unto heaven; and let us make us a name, lest we be scattered abroad upon the face of the whole earth.

Notice some of the attitudes associated with technology..

  • reach unto heaven - gateway to heaven
  • make a name - status achievement
  • lest we are scattered - community binder

We see here for example elements of religion, status and community bonding all aims of technology success. Wrongly used, this attitude opposes God and His salvation system for us.

Notice today we have other technologies that satisfy these elements...

  • fancy church buildings - gateway to heaven?
  • fashion and materialism - status achievements
  • One world government - community binder

Is than technology in the wrong hands something we do to increase our pride and make a name for ourselves that we are "elohiym" 'gods of our own choosing'?

Ps 82:6 I have said, Ye are gods "elohiym"; and all of you are children of the most High (Father).

Is it any wonder that in the last days of earth's history we wonder after the Technology Beast and all it's glory?

Re 18:3 For all nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her fornication, and the kings of the earth have committed fornication with her, and the merchants of the earth are waxed rich through the abundance of her delicacies. Re 18:15 The merchants of these things, which were made rich by her, shall stand afar off for the fear of her torment, weeping and wailing, 16 And saying, Alas, alas, that great city, that was clothed in fine linen, and purple, and scarlet, and decked with gold, and precious stones, and pearls!

Few cultures today bow down to materialism and commercialism, so where do we find modern examples of this kind of thing God hates?

Notice the Greek word "strenos". Only used once here. But it related to Greek word (stereos).

Heb 5:12 For when for the time ye ought to be teachers, ye have need that one teach you again which be the first principles of the oracles of God; and are become such as have need of milk, and not of strong meat. 13 For every one that useth milk is unskilful in the word of righteousness: for he is a babe.

We see Babylon (the technology beast) NOT making strong foods, or sound doctrines, or carefully research ideas...instead they are rushing into emotional foods, humanistic doctrines and drug like chemicals poorly researched but great for the money making business.

The second commandment of the Ten Commandments warns us against making any physical technology that opposes the good physical things God has provided for us. We have in the last days a system that makes weakened physical world, with less healthy foods, less Biblically based doctrines, and less research into new medicines. And the world bows down to them, and pays them reverence.

In the new webpage we will consider the concept of idols and what they are? What does all this have to do with the lost covering? And how does Jesus restore the coverings of heaven we have lost?
