(5) Spurious Faith

People mix powers of faith:

Re 3:15 I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot. 16 So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot,

A lukewarm people is mixing his own self powers , with God's teachings, to achieve good works.

Eph 2:9 Not [ saved ] of [ human ] works, lest any man should boast.

You are only saved by Divine Works that come into you by Divine Faith, when you ask for Jesus Divine Powers to flow into you. But you have to ask.

James 2:19 Thou "begin to have faith that" there is "one Divine Elohiym Power" thou doest well: the devils also "begin to have faith", but tremble.

You can begin to have faith, but unless you actually ask for Divine Powers to flow into you, your faith is a "spurious faith" - a mixing of power - something the Devil promotes as a religion.

The Devil is also termed a Provider by Jesus.

John 8:44 Ye are of your "provider" the devil, and the lusts of your "father "provider" ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the "father" provider" of it. (Fuzzy translation: The Hebrew word "ab" like the Greek word "pater" means "provider" in Ancient Hebrew meaning).

Hence self human powers are provided to you by the Devil, who was the first creature to have sinned, and thus is a provider of self powers.

So Israel developed their own righteousness, mixing the powers of the Devil with God's teachings:

Romans 10:3 For "Israel" being ignorant of God's righteousness, and going about to establish their own righteousness,

God wishes us hot "living with His power" by faith

God wishes us cold, "living with the Opposers power" also by faith

God does NOT want us lukewarm "living with mixing of two powers"

So many people of relgion, do things using human powers. This is a spurious faith, because

Revelation 3:16 So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spew thee out of my mouth.

We are to live in His powers all the time by Divine faith

Not by human powers

Notice what our Hebrew English translator says: EGW: "Then if this great and infinite sacrifice has been made in our behalf, let us ask ourselves, What are we doing? Do we say, “Believe, believe on Christ, and that is all”? If we have not the faith that works by love, and purifies the soul from every stain of sin, then we have a spurious faith . Christ is not the minister of sin. And what is sin? The only definition given in God’s word is, "Sin is the transgression of the law;" and the apostle Paul declares, "Where no law is, there is no transgression." The law is the great standard that will measure every man's character. {BEcho June 11, 1894, par. 7}

The faith we must claim is a flow of Divine Powers with our doings, because we ask for this. Not a pious flow of human powers trying to obey the ten commandments through our own strength.

Joh 15:5 I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing

Only by doing genuine faith can we bear His fruit from a flow of His doings in us. But before we consider genuine faith, lets look at some who practice faith with all their human powers, like I did for over 40 years....as I was taught...
