guilt and atonement

( 11 ) Le 5:17 And if a soul sin , and commit any of these things which are forbidden to be done by the commandments of the LORD ; though he wist it not, yet is he guilty , and shall bear his iniquity "`avon".

.. and shall bear his guilt ..

( 12 ) Le 7:18 And if any of the flesh of the sacrifice of his peace offerings be eaten at all on the third day , it shall not be accepted , neither shall it be imputed unto him that offereth it: it shall be an abomination , and the soul that eateth of it shall bear his iniquity "`avon".

.. of it shall bear his guilt ..

( 13 ) Le 10:17 Wherefore have ye not eaten the sin offering in the holy place , seeing it is most holy , and God hath given it you to bear the iniquity "`avon" of the congregation , to make atonement for them before the LORD ?

.. given it you to bear the guilt ..

( 14 ) Le 16:21 And Aaron shall lay both his hands upon the head of the live goat , and confess over him all the iniquities "`avon" of the children of Israel , and all their transgressions in all their sins , putting them upon the head of the goat , and shall send him away by the hand of a fit man into the wilderness : {a fit...: Heb. a man of opportunity}

.. and confess over him all the guilt .. Notice Aaron is placing the twisting results upon Satan from which the twisting actions were empowered from. This implies that Satan is as much as a empower of sinning, as Jesus is the strong authority who empowers us not to be sinning... We are controlled by either one of two masters, Satan or Christ

( 15 ) Le 16:22 And the goat shall bear upon him all their iniquities "`avon" unto a land not inhabited : and he shall let go the goat in the wilderness . {not...: Heb. of separation}

.. bear upon him all their guilt .. See comment before. See other studies on sin, or sin offering.

( 16 ) Le 17:16 But if he wash them not, nor bathe his flesh ; then he shall bear his iniquity "`avon".

.. then he shall bear his guilt ..

( 17 ) Le 18:25 And the land is defiled : therefore I do visit the iniquity "`avon" thereof upon it, and the land itself vomiteth out her inhabitants .

.. therefore I do visit the guilt .. I visit the guilt.. Guilt is defined as the twisting results of our sinning and siding with Satan who empowers us.

( 18 ) Le 19:8 Therefore every one that eateth it shall bear his iniquity "`avon", because he hath profaned the hallowed thing of the LORD : and that soul shall be cut off from among his people .

.. eateth it shall bear his guilt .. Notice each individual is reponsible for his or her own guilt.... We cannot say Satan made me do this or that...its all his fault....Satan beguiled me... This excuse was used by Adam and Eve in their own bouts of sinning. God does not like excuses, though He freely loves and listen to them.

What is important is evething has been made plain for you to overcome sinning, and flee from Satanic agencies. The only thing that prevents you from untangling the guilty ropes about your life is you.... See further studies on Steps to Jesus, role of Satan, sin, or sin offering

( 19 ) Le 20:17 And if a man shall take his sister , his father's daughter , or his mother's daughter , and see her nakedness , and she see his nakedness ; it is a wicked thing ; and they shall be cut off in the sight of their people : he hath uncovered his sister's nakedness ; he shall bear his iniquity "`avon".

.. he shall bear his guilt .. Notice guilt is not a feeling as such. Guilt is an action. You have done some sinning. Guilt entangles you more and more. Those physical results of sinning causes negative and moral feelings we call guilt.

( 20 ) Le 20:19 And thou shalt not uncover the nakedness of thy mother's sister , nor of thy father's sister : for he uncovereth his near kin : they shall bear their iniquity "`avon". {uncovereth: Heb. hath made naked}

.. they shall bear their guilt ..
