Be careful what you desire..

( 11 ) Ps 68:16 Why leap ye, ye high hills ? this is the hill which God desireth "chamad" to dwell in ; yea, the LORD will dwell in it for ever .

.. is the hill which God desire .. a good use of desire here

( 12 ) Pr 1:22 How long, ye simple ones , will ye love simplicity ? and the scorners delight "chamad" in their scorning , and fools hate knowledge ?

.. and the scorners desire .. Why do scorners and scoffers desire their power ? They love their human power, so weak that it is, one has to profane and swear to make such power seem more powerful.

( 13 ) Pr 6:25 Lust "chamad" not after her beauty in thine heart ; neither let her take thee with her eyelids .

.. desire not the woman nor her eyelids .. The idea of the haughty "come on" wink showing their abuse of power, the concept of desire...predator and victim.. This is hardly a functional relationship... They are often a victim of abuse themselves.

( 14 ) Pr 12:12  The wicked desireth "chamad" the net of evil men: but the root of the righteous yieldeth fruit. {the net: or, the fortress}

.. desire ..

( 15 ) Pr 21:20 There is treasure to be desired "chamad" and oil in the dwelling of the wise ; but a foolish man spendeth it up .

.. 21:20 There is treasure to be desire ..

( 16 ) Song 2:3  As the apple tree among the trees of the wood , so is my beloved among the sons . I sat down under his shadow with great delight "chamad", and his fruit was sweet to my taste . {I sat...: Heb. I delighted and sat down, etc} {taste: Heb. palate}

.. under his shadow with great desire ..

( 17 ) Isa 1:29 For they shall be ashamed of the oaks which ye have desired "chamad", and ye shall be confounded for the gardens that ye have chosen .

.. of the oaks which ye have desire ..

( 18 ) Isa 44:9  They that make a graven image are all of them vanity ; and their delectable things "chamad" shall not profit ; and they are their own witnesses ; they see not, nor know ; that they may be ashamed . {delectable: Heb. desirable}

.. them vanity and their delectable desire ..

( 19 ) Isa 53:2 For he shall grow up before him as a tender plant , and as a root out of a dry ground : he hath no form nor comeliness ; and when we shall see him, there is no beauty that we should desire "chamad" him.

.. there is no beauty that we should desire .. Jesus did not display Himself. Jesus did not come with the position of a King, though He was a king. Jesus did not come with power of a ruler, though He was a ruler. Jesus came as an ordinary person, nothing about Him that we should desire. A grape vine looks incredibly ugly and dead when dominate. There is nothing there to desire the plant, until its life comes forth. Jesus became desireable as soon as He preached, healed and spoke. Than He showed position and power, but He was also humble and meek.

( 20 ) Mic 2:2 And they covet "chamad" fields , and take them by violence ; and houses , and take them away : so they oppress a man and his house , even a man and his heritage . {oppress: or, defraud}

.. desire ..
