Sabbath is a delight

( 131 ) Isa 56:4 For thus saith the LORD unto the eunuchs that keep my sabbaths "shabbath", and choose the things that please me, and take hold of my covenant ;

.. eunuchs that keep my ceasing ..

( 132 ) Isa 56:6 Also the sons of the stranger , that join themselves to the LORD , to serve him, and to love the name of the LORD , to be his servants , every one that keepeth the sabbath "shabbath" from polluting it, and taketh hold of my covenant ;

.. every one that keepeth the ceasing ..

( 133 ) Isa 58:13 If thou turn away thy foot from the sabbath "shabbath", from doing thy pleasure on my holy day ; and call the sabbath "shabbath" a delight , the holy of the LORD , honourable ; and shalt honour him, not doing thine own ways , nor finding thine own pleasure , nor speaking thine own words :

.. .. away thy foot from the ceasing .. and call the ceasing .. Notice the attitude to Sabbath one must have....

(1) Sabbath Time is to be a delight - an attitude of joy.... You are not to do your own delight...

"delight" Strongs 5626 The ancient pictograph reads "Outside the mouth travels".

(2) Sabbath Time is a soft-delight - an attitude of happiness.... You are to treat Sabbath softly as a delight...

img src="images/C.gif" width=30 height=30> "soft-delight" Strongs 6027 The ancient pictograph reads "The Eye secure across the family walks".

(3) Sabbath Time is a time for speaking God's words... You are not to speak your own words..

"words" Strongs 1697 The ancient pictograph reads "The door of the home's head". From the person's head, the home of your soul, comes through the door of your soul, and arrangement of "things" ie: "words".

Putting all these things together, on the Sabbath, a person must not speak their own words, or chat about idle things, speaking only the Lord's words. The person must treat Sabbath softly as something of value and delicate. The person must make the Sabbath a delight, and with the attitude of joy.

In contrast Sabbath is not to be a burden where sad depressed people speak about social things and treat Sabbath like a soical club, and afterwards go and sleep or find some pleasure to do for their own glory, rather than glorifying God.

( 134 ) Isa 66:23 And it shall come to pass, that from one new moon to another , and from one sabbath "shabbath" to another "shabbath", shall all flesh come to worship before me, saith the LORD .

.. .. to another and from one ceasing ..and from one sabbath to ceasing .. Here is a reference to time after the third coming of Jesus to earth, making all things new....the Sabbath continues forever.... the Sabbath-saved continues forever... in fact both types of ceasings continue for ever....

Isa 66:22 For as the new heavens and the new earth, which I will make, shall remain before me, saith the LORD, so shall your seed and your name remain.

Reference to third coming of Jesus, when things are renewed by Creation

Zec 14:4 And his feet shall stand in that day upon the mount of Olives, which is before Jerusalem on the east, and the mount of Olives shall cleave in the midst thereof toward the east and toward the west, and there shall be a very great valley; and half of the mountain shall remove toward the north, and half of it toward the south.

During the third coming of Jesus, His foot touches the earth, making a split in the valley of Mt Olives, to make room for Eden and her city to come down to earth.

23 And it shall come to pass, that from one new moon to another, and from one sabbath to another, shall all flesh come to worship before me, saith the LORD.

Notice both new moon sabbaths and weekly sabbaths are referenced here on the new earth...as memorials to Jesus ongoing salvation in us....the attitude of gratitude is eternal, and are the cycles of memorials to His doings from the past...

So if the "sabbath-saved" memorials are placed in the New city why do Churches today not continue with "sabbath-saved" memorials ? Keeping the festivals and feasts as required ?

( 135 ) Jer 17:21 Thus saith the LORD ; Take heed to yourselves , and bear no burden on the sabbath "shabbath" day , nor bring it in by the gates of Jerusalem ;

.. bear no burden on the ceasing ..

( 136 ) Jer 17:22 Neither carry forth a burden out of your houses on the sabbath "shabbath" day , neither do ye any work , but hallow ye the sabbath "shabbath" day , as I commanded your fathers .

.. .. of your houses on the ceasing .. but hallow ye the ceasing ..

( 137 ) Jer 17:24 And it shall come to pass, if ye diligently hearken unto me, saith the LORD , to bring in no burden through the gates of this city on the sabbath "shabbath" day , but hallow the sabbath "shabbath" day , to do no work therein;

.. .. of this city on the ceasing .. but hallow the ceasing ..

( 138 ) Jer 17:27 But if ye will not hearken unto me to hallow the sabbath "shabbath" day , and not to bear a burden , even entering in at the gates of Jerusalem on the sabbath "shabbath" day ; then will I kindle a fire in the gates thereof, and it shall devour the palaces of Jerusalem , and it shall not be quenched .

.. .. unto me to hallow the ceasing ..Jerusalem on the ceasing ..

( 139 ) La 2:6 And he hath violently taken away his tabernacle , as if it were of a garden : he hath destroyed his places of the assembly : the LORD hath caused the solemn feasts and sabbaths "shabbath" to be forgotten in Zion , and hath despised in the indignation of his anger the king and the priest .

.. caused the solemn feasts and ceasing ..

( 140 ) Eze 20:12 Moreover also I gave them my sabbaths "shabbath", to be a sign between me and them, that they might know that I am the LORD that sanctify them.

.. Moreover also I gave them my ceasing ..
