Are we born sinning?

Q9: Are we born sinning?

Same say we are born sinning. Does the Bible support this idea?

Ps 51:5 Behold, I was shapen in iniquity (guilt) in sin "chet'" did my mother conceive me.

This suggests at first glance that David was born under guilt and conceived in sin, thus suggesting he was born a sinner. The word sin in the verse is chata as a noun, the idea that some sinning had taken place and was already completed. Since a fetus cannot complete sin, it is assumed that David inherits some completed sin from his parents, hence original sin from Adam is the passing down as inherited sinning as a noun to each offspring. This is the only Bible verse that suggests this idea.

We have already seen that condemnation is inherited by Adam to all his offspring, not some sinning as a noun. The condemnation is the permission of Satan to rule over each fetus from conception as the natural ruling power of the baby.

But should the verse read as it reads, than some sinning was already been completed during the conception of David, this has to have come from Davids mother. Notice Davids own words describing how he lived as a child in his home.

Ps 69:8 I am become a stranger unto my brethren, and an alien unto my mother's children.

  • 9 For the zeal of thine house hath eaten me up; and the reproaches of them that reproached thee are fallen upon me.
  • 10 When I wept, and chastened my soul with fasting, that was to my reproach.
  • 11 I made sackcloth also my garment; and I became a proverb to them.
  • 12 They that sit in the gate speak against me; and I was the song of the drunkards.

Ps 69:21 They gave me also gall for my meat; and in my thirst they gave me vinegar to drink.

In order to see the horrible conditions of Davids birth we need to see behind Bible writings to other Jewish writings that describe the life of David and his mother. Source: Nitzevet, Mother of David The Bold Voice of Silence, By Chana Weisberg.

David's mother, Nitzevet bat Adel, was separated by Jesse because Jesse feared being of Moabite descent that he was not allowed to carry his blood line with forbidden Moabite ties. The children of Jesse were through another wife, so in desperation Nitzevet switched places with the other wife, and got herself pregnant, a child called David.

When Samuel came to anoint the next King of Israel, he was careful not to say have ye any more sons ? 1Sa 16:11 No he didnt say that, he said have ye any more children? Jesse never considered the young lad David his true son.

Jews had a popular belief that humans were born sinning. This is not a Bible truth.

Joh 9:2 And his disciples asked him, saying, Master, who did sin hamartano or Hebrew chata, this man, or his parents, that he was born blind?

  • 3 Jesus answered, Neither hath this man sinned hamartano or Hebrew chata,, nor his parents: but that the works of God should be made manifest in him.
  • 4 I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day: the night cometh, when no man can work.
  • 5 As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world.

Noticed carefully the word here for sin is the 'missing the mark', the sinning one does. Jesus says very clearly that sinning is not inherited, and Jesus describes a clue to where such inherited problems come from , the works of darkness. The Bible never exposes this source much as to make His claim to be prince , but we know from Scripture, the works of darkness is a reference to Satan who changed the genetics of this man to be born blind.

Thus we are not born sinning.

We become sinning when our mind chooses to do sinning. The study of inherited genes and propensities is another subject to study later.

When Jesus came to earth, he came in the same fallen body that we have, with all the inherited weaknesses since Adam. But Jesus also came as the second Adam, and was found from birth not without any sinning in Him, like the first Adam's character was spotless until he did his first sinning. Jesus, unlike the first Adam never did any sinning or missing. How this is achieved is through the Nazarene process, in which one could be born of the Holy Spirit from birth, thus reserving your cognitive mind from sinning as a baby. Samuel, John the Baptist, Samson and Jesus were all examples of such special birth under the mighty power of the Holy Spirit. From adulthood Jesus overcame all sinning or missing by being totally abiding in His Father's power of love, through faith. This connection is made possible through Bible study and prayer. Such works ensure we are kept humble and meek, if we use this power from God wisely and without presumption. Such a total victory from sinning is also possible in all believers as well. Jesus power is not limiting...He can and will do everything in you to His glory, if ye are willing to study His words, pray to Him daily and listen to the still small voice in your soul, via the Holy Spirit, as you bear fruit that is shared with others. Shalom

Lastly on the next webpage we will summarize the sinning study and highlight matters learned.
